Wainfleet Break and Enter Investigation Leads to 3 Arrests

A break and enter on Tuesday at a home in Wainfleet has led to the arrest of 3 men.

Police arrested and charged a 24-year-old man after he broke into a residence and stole several firearms, ammunition and a crossbow.

New information during the investigation led police to shut down an area in downtown Welland yesterday afternoon. An Emergency Task Force proceeded to search a home for more stolen goods, leading to the arrest of two more men who have been charged with illegal possession of a firearm and obstructing a peace officer.

In total, police have recovered 13 firearms, a large amount of ammo and other items stolen during the break and enter.

Despite these arrests police say the investigation is ongoing.
