Helicopters will be flying over Niagara this week, tossing live rabies baits to the ground below.
According to the Ministry of Natural Resources of Forestry, the khaki-green coloured packets contain a rabies vaccine for raccoons, skunks and foxes.
They're made of a wax-fat with an attractant vanilla-sugar flavour. The liquid vaccine is embedded inside.
There's a label on the outside with a toll-free telephone number (1-888-574-6656.) It also instructs people not to eat the packet.
The baits are not harmful to pets or humans; but if you come across one, you should leave it alone.
