Climate change is going to be a big priority for the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority in 2020.
According to the St. Catharines Standard, the board has declared a climate change emergency and it's taking steps to address the issue next year.
It supported a report brought forward by CAO Gayle Wood, which calls for the development of a climate change vision and charter.
The report also calls for a business case to request funding in 2020 and the establishment of a public advisory committee.
The committee would work alongside Brock University, McMaster University, the Niagara Region, the City of Hamilton and Haldimand County to address the issue.
