Delivering babies is all part of the job for Niagara EMS, even when it's one of your co-workers on the stretcher.
Paramedics Taylor and Mark Haynes left their home in Niagara-on-the-Lake, to give birth at the St. Catharines Hospital yesterday.
When they hit heavy traffic on Lakeshore Road, they realized they were not going to make it in time so they decided to pull into the Linwell EMS base.
A healthy baby boy was born not too long afterwards, weighing 10 pounds five ounces.
This was Taylor's fourth child. This also marks the first time a baby has ever been born in a Niagara EMS base.
Officials with Niagara EMS congratulated the couple and staff members on Twitter.
