The Out of the Heat program is underway in St. Catharines.
If you need a cool place to sleep at night, you can head on over to St. George's Anglican Church.
The back entrance door off Raymond Street will be open every night this summer until the end of August.
Those who stay the night will have access to on-site mental health, addictions and housing supports. They will also be given a bedtime snack.
All of the mats are available on a first come, first serve basis. You can not hold a spot for someone else, and all clients will be assessed at the door beforehand.
The hours will be as follows;
Sunday - 9:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
Monday - 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
Tuesday - 9:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
Wednesday - 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
Thursday - 9:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
Friday - 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
Saturday 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
Out of the Heat will also be hosting a Community Barbeque and Open House tonight. That should get started at 6:00 p.m. and everyone is welcome to stop by.
