Regional Council Approves NRPS Budgets for 2019

The Niagara Regional Police Service has their budgets in place for 2019.
Their operating budget came in at $146,714,214 their capital budget is $3,088,500.
The service is planning on hiring a full-time Corporate Clinical Psychologist, adding more officers to their Sexual Assault Unit and creating a Human Trafficking Unit.
The NRPS would also like to have two additional school resource officers and another two officers dedicated to foot patrol in downtown St. Catharines.
Niagara Regional Council has also approved $2.9 million in building costs for the new NRPS headquarters on Welland Ave in St. Catharines.
