Water Levels to Remain Above Average for Winter

September 7, 2019

By: Marcie Culbert

The water levels in Lake Erie and Lake Ontario continue to decline, but it looks like they will remain above average going into the winter months.

According to the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority, Lake Erie is just under 175 metres.

This still six centimetres above it's record high that was set 33 years ago and 70 centimetres above it's average.

Meanwhile Lake Ontario is just over 75 metres, which is 53-centimetres above average.

This is also 57 centimetres below it's record high that was set this past June.
