NRP arrested 2 people at a Niagara Falls hotel today, one is a 16-year old girl
A 16-year old girl from Wasaga Beach is facing charges after an investigation into human trafficking in Niagara.
Officers arrived at a hotel in Niagara Falls today, which led to the arrest of two people, and two victims being identified.
Police say 26-year old Lomar Brown of Markham faces nine charges:
• Trafficking in persons under 18 years of age
• Advertising another person’s sexual services
• Procuring person under 18 years of age
• Financial benefit from trafficking person under 18 years of age
• Material benefit from sexual services provided by person under 18 years of age
• Possess proceeds obtained by crime under $5000.00
• Trafficking in person’s by exercising control
• Procuring
• Forcible confinement
Police say the teenager has three charges against her:
• Trafficking in person’s by exercising control
• Procuring
• Forcible confinement
Both are in custody, pending a bail hearing, and police believe there may be more victims.
