Cyndi Lauper, George Michael, Kate Bush and Missy Elliott among this year's nominees
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced this year's nominees.
The 14 contenders include:

- Sheryl Crow
- Willie Nelson
- Soundgarden
- Iron Maiden
- Missy Elliott
- A Tribe Called Quest
- Cyndi Lauper
- The White Stripes
- Rage Against the Machine
- The Spinners
- Warren Zevon
- George Michael
"This remarkable list of Nominees reflects the diverse artists and music that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame honors and celebrates. These artists have created their own sounds that have impacted generations and influenced countless others that have followed in their footsteps." - John Sykes, Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation.
To be eligible, musicians must have released their first album at least 25 years before being nominated.
Fans can cast ballots here for their favourite artists until April 28th 28th.
The list of inductees will be announced in May, and the ceremony will take place in the fall.
