Festival gives students in grades three and four a chance to learn more about water
Students in Niagara will soon have a chance to learn more about one of our most important natural resources: water.
The 20th annual Niagara Children's Water Festival takes place tomorrow through Thursday at Brock University.
Students in grades three and four will get to participate in activities to teach them more about water.
The goal of the festival is to inspire them to initiate changes within their homes, schools and communities.
The event is being put on by the Niagara Region, the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority, the City of St. Catharines, Brock University and Ontario Power Generation.
The festival includes over 30 activity centres run by the partners as well as other nature, water and conservation organizations.
According to the Niagara Region, about 2,200 students, as well as 600 parents, teachers and volunteers are expected to participate this year.
Since 2003, the event has hosted nearly 70,000 children.
