A significant investment from the federal government to rebuild the Royal George Theatre in Niagara on the Lake.
The Shaw Festival says it's received up to $25-million, to create a more accessible and environmentally sustainable theatre.
St. Catharines MP Chris Bittle says the money is from the Build Communities Strong Fund.
The 110-year old theatre was closed in 2025 due to age, but it'll reopen in the fall of 2028.
It'll have 350 seats, honour the original character of the building, and have windows enabling a glimpse into rehearsals in progress.
