An uptick in new COVID-19 cases in Niagara.
Niagara Region Public Health is confirming 5 new cases of the virus today.
As well, Niagara Health is confirming 3 patients with the virus, with one in the ICU.
There are 51 active cases and one active outbreak.
Just over 620,000 vaccinations have been given administered in Niagara.
About 69.9 percent of residents have their first shot, and 59.5 percent are fully immunized.
