Video shows whale hitting its head on wall of its pool
Another heart wrenching video has emerged of Marineland's last surviving orca in its tank at the Niagara Falls theme park.
Phil Demers, @walruswhisperer, sharing the video on his Twitter account he says was taken by anti-captivity activists on September 4th.
In July, an animal rights group asked the Ontario government to look into Marineland's treatment of Kiska.
Animal Justice filed a complaint with the province's Solicitor General alleging the park is subjecting the whale to conditions that fail to meet her physical and mental needs which the group says is against the law.
This comes after Demers, a former animal trainer at the park, posted a pair of videos showing Kiska floating listlessly in her tank.
In a release Animal Justice says " Kiska is the only orca in the world who lives in captivity without other whales or dolphins for companions. She was captured in Iceland in 1979 at around three years of age, purchased by Marineland, and has lived without any other orca companions since 2011."
The video also reignited interest in a change.org petition demanding Kiska be moved to an appropriate facility, such as a whale sanctuary, where she can "live a more natural and healthy life."
