Niagara Falls working with Burlington developer for 10-storey building
Construction starts this summer on a 10-storey, 362 unit apartment building in Niagara Falls, not far from city hall.
Senior Manager of Municipal Works Mathew Bilodeau says it's on Park Street, beside St. Clare, opening day expected in the fall of 2029.
He adds Elite Development from Burlington will build on the current vacant lot. "Prior to the remediation of the site, it was a municipal parking lot, prior to that it was a market for the downtown area, the property has historically been in the city's ownership, it's been used for decades."
He says it'll have 36 "affordable units", 36 "attainable units" and the rest priced according to the market.
He adds there'll be room for businesses on the main floor. "There's also quite a bit of amenity space in the building, leisure space for the residents, at the back of the building there's going to be a parking structure, and on the roof of the parking structure there's going to be amenities."
