Bayshore Donating 150 Amazon Tablets to At Risk Niagara Seniors

The Bayshore Foundation is teaming up with Amazon to support lonely seniors during the pandemic.

Amazon has donated 1,000 of it's Fire Tablets and Bayshore Director John Lawrence says Cyber Seniors will distribute 150 of them in Niagara.

"They're working with Niagara Regional Housing with at risk seniors and they're distributing the tablets to them. One of the biggest benefits for the seniors with the use of the tablets is that it will help them stay connected with their family members."

Cyber Seniors is an organization which shows seniors how to use the latest technology.

Lawrence says it will provide training to the seniors in Niagara.

"Normally they work one-on-one with the seniors live but in this case what they're doing for the most part is working online with them. There is someone that introduces the tablet to them, they get them connected and then they work with the training mostly online."

The rest of the tablets will be going to Mississauga, Ottawa and the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute.
