She has been diving into the world of TikTok with her 11-year-old daughter by her side.
Shauna Pomerantz is an Associate Professor and Graduate Program Director in the Department of Child and Youth Studies at Brock University.
She has been researching the benefits of the popular social media platform with her daughter Miriam.
“I think our study will speak to this context by showcasing TikTok as a different kind of learning value. It’s escapism, yes, but also engagement in the creative process, production, interconnection with friends and an online community, cultural literacy, and the cultivation of one’s own taste and style.”
She’s encouraging other parents to take the time and make a TikTok with their kids, so they can see what it’s all about.
