Police arrested a 35-year old Hamilton man
Police have interrupted the human trafficking of a woman in Niagara, with the arrest of a Hamilton man.
They began investigating this case in October, discovering she had been trafficked elsewhere in Canada as well.
Yesterday police arrested 35-year old Jermayne Henwood, in Hamilton, laying 9 charges:
- Trafficking in Persons
- Material Benefit from Trafficking in Persons
- Material Benefit from Sexual Services
- Advertising Another Person’s Sexual Services
- Procuring
- Withholding Documents
- Administer Noxious Substance
- Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
He remains in custody, pending a bail hearing today.
Police believe there could be other victims of Henwood, and if you know of someone who is, call police.
