City staff looking to find a new home for the mural located at the site of the former Best Value Inn.
The City of Welland is looking to relocate a prominent mural.
The mural, which depicts historical images of a horse pulling a sailing ship, is on the former Best Value Inn on Niagara Street.
The building is set to be demolished.
City staff and the developer are looking at ways to safely remove the art.
The city says it would then store the mural until a new location is chosen.
The art is part of the Welland Mural project, which began in 1986.
The project pays tribute to Welland's industrial and marine history.
