The fate of Avila Hall is in the hands of Niagara Falls City Council.
The Mount Carmel Monastery would like to demolish the historic building on Stanley Ave.
It says it's a surplus building and it's costly to maintain.
It's is located right next to the Mount Carmel Spiritual Centre.
City staff would like Avila Hall designated under the Ontario Heritage Act.
This will be discussed at tonight's council meeting.
