The inquest will take place in February, to find out what happened to Sabrina Van Vessem
The death of a woman in custody at the Niagara regional police headquarters a few years ago will be looked into further by the Ministry of the Solicitor General.
Dr. Karen Schiff, Regional Supervising Coroner for West Region, Hamilton Office says the inquest for Sabrina Van Vessem will start Monday, February 3rd, examining the circumstances surrounding her death, and make recommendations to prevent further deaths.
The 24-year old died in May, 2020, an inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.
It's expected to last five days, and hear from about nine witnesses.
