Detectives Investigating Man Posing as Police Officer

Complainant tells police they were stopped by a man posing as a police officer

Police are investigating after receiving a complaint about a man posing as a police officer in Niagara Falls. 

Investigators say around 6:30 last night, the complainant was driving on Drummond Road near Prospect Street, when a vehicle activated red and blue emergency lighting. 

The person pulled over, and was approached by someone who gave the impression he was a police officer. 

The complainant asked for his name and badge number, and the suspect fled. 

The suspect is described as: 

  • Male
  • White / tan skin
  • 20-30 years of age
  • 5’11" tall
  • Small patch of facial hair under his bottom lip

The suspect was last seen wearing:

  • Black toque with a Canadian flag on it
  • Dark jacket with a name tag
  • Duty belt with handcuffs and a baton

Police want to speak with any witnesses or nearby residents who may have caught the incident on security cameras.
