The former head of St. Joseph's Health System in Hamilton is getting a one million dollar payout after being let go for taking a vacation to the Dominican over the holidays.
The former head of St. Joseph's Health System in Hamilton is getting a one million dollar payout after being let go for taking a vacation to the Dominican over the holidays.
Dr. Tom Stewart also served as the CEO of Niagara Health.
Niagara Health officials were the first to remove him from the position after learning of his travel history.
St. Joe's issued a statement last night saying because his vacation was approved all terms of his contract will be upheld which means he will get 2 years pay over the next 24 months.
