We have our first confirmed case of COVID-19 in Niagara.
The Region says it's an 84-year-old man.
Niagara Health says he's being treated in St. Catharines.
He was taken to hospital for another medical issue on Tuesday, but he tested positive for the coronavirus last night.
The paramedics and doctors who come into contact with him before he started showing symptoms have been told to go into self-isolation.
He remains hospital at this time and he's receiving treatment in an isolation room.
Health officials are still investigating where and how the man contracted the virus.
He did not travel recently, but but one of his family members just recently returned from Portugal.
