E.coli, algae detected
Niagara Region Public Health is advising swimmers to stay away from five local beaches.
Officials say algae has been found at Waverly Beach in Fort Erie.
Meanwhile, e.coli has been found at Crescent Beach in Fort Erie, Centennial Cedar Bay Beach in Port Colborne, Long Beach in Wainfleet and Wainfleet Lake Erie Public Access Beach.
Throughout the summer, Public Health frequently tests the water at local beaches to make sure it's safe for swimmers.
