Algae and E.coli detected at local beaches
If you plan to go swimming this weekend, there are a few local beaches you should avoid.
Niagara Region Public Health says algae has been found at Waverly Beach in Fort Erie.
Meanwhile, E.coli has been detected at Crescent Beach in Fort Erie, Fifty Point Conservation Beach in Grimsby, Lakeside Beach in St. Catharines, and Sunset Beach in St. Catharines.
The water at local beaches is tested frequently during the summer, to make sure it's safe for swimmers.
