Sources say Premier will do an about face and introduce passport system
A senior government source says the passport can be used in restaurants and movie theatres.
The premier is expected to meet with his cabinet this week to finalize the plan.
The move marks a major change in policy for Doug Ford who has consistently said he did not want an Ontario vaccine certificate because it would create a “split society.”
But the move comes amid a growing call for some kind of certificate program from municipal and business leaders as well as health professionals.
It was just last week, Niagara Regional council passed a motion asking the Ford government to develop a vaccine passport.
