Fort Erie Town Council will be meeting with Ontario's Deputy Premier and Health Minister Christine Elliott.
They're going to talk about the future of the Douglas Memorial Urgent Care Centre, the new South Niagara Hospital, and local health initiatives on March 9th.
According to data from the Ministry of Health, only nine percent of Fort Erie residents did not have a family doctor as of January 2020.
That's a significant decrease, compared to the 30 percent reported in January 2019.
Town Council has invested over $130,000 in physician recruitment and retention since 2018.
