Fort Erie Developing New Policy on Cannabis Production Facilities

Residents are invited to weigh in on how facilities should be managed

Town officials noting, while they have bylaws to regulate the production of weed, the rules were developed years ago when only medical marijuana was legal.

Fort Erie’s Directing of Planning, Kira Dolch, says it's now time the Town's current planning policies and by-laws are updated to regulate the full range of cannabis uses.

On Thursday, the town is hosting a public open house on Zoom between 5 and 7pm to discuss cannabis legislation and policy study and to receive public feedback.
