Charges had been laid in a joint investigation, involving the NRP, the OPP and the Canada Border Services Agency.
They were looking into the illegal importation of weapons, after a prohibited firearm suppressor device was seized at the CBSA International Mail Processing Centre in Toronto.
Police searched a Fort Erie home on Wednesday, in the Belleair Boulevard and Dominion Road area.
They arrested and charged a 36-year-old with the following offences;
- Importation of a prohibited device
- Possession of a prohibited device
- Possession of a prohibited weapon (two counts)
- Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of methadone for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of proceeds obtained by crime under $5,000
- Possession of a prohibited device contrary to prohibition order
- Possession of a prohibited weapon contrary to prohibition order (two counts)
- Possession of ammunition contrary to prohibition order
- Attempt to smuggle
- Possession of illegally imported goods
- Evasion of compliance
