Mayor Wayne Redekop indicating the town will take part in regional governance review, via regional council
The Town of Fort Erie revealing what it plans to do concerning the amalgamation issue.
It will take part in the governance review that was approved by Niagara regional council last week, that addresses duplication, based on data, a business case, and public consultation, including local municipalities.
The resolution also restricts Chair Bob Gale from acting further, except through regional council, and to that end, Mayor Wayne Redekop sent him a letter reminding him of that.
Furthermore, Fort Erie will not be responding to the Chair's request that all Niagara mayors comment on this, but Mayor Redekop will coorespond directly with the provincial government, as needed, in support of governance review approved by regional council.
