Fort Erie’s operating deficit could reach $469,435 by the end of June due to COVID-19.
The town says it could also increase to $669,280 by the end of the year if the current situation remains unchanged.
Mayor Wayne Redekop says the town has been working with all levels of government to mitigate the financial impact as much as possible, but it’s not easy.
He adds the local, national and global economic impact of COVID-19 will be unlike anything we’ve seen before, but he’s confident we will be able to find a solution.
