The Forks Road bridge will finally be replaced.
The federal government has announced $9.9 million in funding for four road and bridge projects in Southern Ontario and the Forks Road bridge is one of them.
This also includes fixing up St. Anns Road and bridge in West Lincoln and reconstruction projects on Drummond Road, Gallinger Street, and Portage Road in Niagara Falls.
The funding will also help replace the Big Creek Bridge in Norfolk County.
Niagara Centre MP Vance Badawey announced the funding today on behalf of Maryam Monsef, the Minister of Women and Gender Equality and Rural Economic Development.
He was joined by Niagara West MPP Sam Oosterhoff, Niagara Falls Mayor Jim Diodati, Welland Mayor Frank Campion, West Lincoln Mayor Dave Bylsma and Norfolk County Manor Kristal Chopp.
The province is setting aside $6.6 million for these projects and the municipalities will provide over $17.8 million combined.
