Wayne Gates is calling on Premier Doug Ford, to protect temporary workers across Ontario.
The Niagara Falls NDP MPP tabled a motion in the Legislature yesterday, requesting the Ford Government implement section 83 (4) of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act.
This comes after a 57-year-old man died at Fiera Foods last month. Five temporary workers have died at the North York facility since 1999.
Gates says the government needs to make sure that temporary workers have the same protections as all other workers across the province.
Gates is the Workplace Health and Safety and WSIB critic for the official opposition.
