He wants them safely moved, and the park repurposed
Niagara Falls MPP Wayne Gates is demanding the provincial government act to make sure remaining whales at Marineland are moved to safe homes.
He also wants the park repurposed without animals to protect jobs.
Yesterday, Premier Doug Ford said he felt sorry for these whales held in one acre of water. "And it's unfortunate the two owners passed away, and left it in trust with a lawyer, and, this is my guess, but the money is going to run out. I'm hearing it's costing a million dollars a month to feed these whales."
Marineland has applied to the federal government for export permits, 19 whales have died since 2019.
