Unifor has released the results of a vote conducted by workers at the GM plant in Ingersoll.
They voted by 91 percent in favour of ratifying a new agreement with GM Canada that includes a $1 billion investment to begin the production of electric commercial delivery vans.
Unifor National President Jerry Dias says the deal will create more jobs for the community.
"This is the result of collaboration with the Ontario and federal governments, and General Motors. I want to thank them and the Local 88 Master Bargaining Committee for working so hard to secure jobs for our members and create new ones for this community."
The three year agreement includes a five percent increase to hourly rate, a productivity and quality bonus of $7250, and a total of $4,000 in improved benefits, inflation protection bonuses and shift premiums.
The deal also includes changes to the New Hire program and an agreement to create an anti-racism plan in the workplace.

The deal will see General Motors spend one billion dollars to transform the plant into a major producer of commercial electric vehicles.
In November, the automaker announced significant investments in both its St. Catharines and shuttered Oshawa plant.
General Motors is investing $109 million in the St. Catharines propulsion plant and $1.3 billion to restart its Oshawa assembly operation.
