Joe Biden has been sworn in as the 46th President of the United States.
In his inaugural address, he told the nation that 'my whole soul is in uniting America.'
He spoke of the need to unite the country in light of the many challenges that have occurred in the past year, including the pandemic and racial inequality, and called on citizens to unite.
"Without unity, there is no peace, only bitterness and fury."
Moments before, Kamala Harris was sworn in as the first female Vice-President in American history.
Harris is also the first Black person and the first person of South Asian descent to be elected to the vice-presidency.
