Marcia Penner has written to all politicians who voted to allow Paul Bernardo be released from maximum security
All Liberal, NDP and Bloc Quebecois MPs who voted against Conservative MP Tony Baldinelli's bill to keep Paul Bernardo in maximum security have heard from Kristen French's childhood friend.
Marcia Penner wrote them a letter, indicating this decision lacks any common sense, and again have put criminals over victims.
She believes they voted as they did simply because it was a Conservative bill. "Logically I just can't think of anything else. I mean, who else would ever suggest that a dangerous offender, mass murderer, rapist, would be able to be re-educated, rehabilitated, and reintegrated back into society."
She's still stunned Liberal MP Tom Osborne could say with a straight face killers like Paul Bernardo could be rehabilitated.
She agrees it matters which politicians are voted into office. "You look around at all this crime, and then you hear them saying they want to reintegrate these monsters back into society, and you wondering what is going on? So, this soft on crime, this catch and release program, it is not working. We cannot continue to slap them on the wrist, and say 'don't do that again'."
She recalls Tom Osborne suggesting Bernardo eventually go to minimum security, in due process.
She also has not heard back from any of them, doesn't expect to, and says any previous responses were lip service.
