The old school on Central Avenue has been sold to Town of Lincoln for $2.85-million
Plenty of ideas being tossed around at Lincoln town hall about future uses of the old Beamsville High school.
Lincoln's Chief Administrative Officer Michael Kirkopoulos says they bought it from the District School Board of Niagara for $2.85-million.
He adds ideas are wide ranging, including sport field and recreation. "We've heard about pickleball, we've others say we'll sell off parts of the site, and we'll use that money to invest in roads and other parts of the community. We've also heard others say let's create a hub, and make office spaces."
He says you can go to the town website and include your thoughts.
"A lot of people would like us to keep the entire site, and keep it in public hands. At the end of the day, I think what council wants from us, and we've already been directed to look at a business case, is what's the financial feasibility of maintaining the site."
Others ideas including housing, for the deal that officially closes in January.
