He was turned over to New York State Police, after U.S. border officers found three fraudulent credit cards.
A 37-year-old man from Illinois tried to cross the Peace Bridge into Fort Erie on Tuesday, but Canadian border officials turned him away.
He went in for secondary inspection once he was back in the United States, that's when officers found the cards.
Officials with U.S. Customs and Border Protection say he admitted to using an alias and tried to use the cards for personal benefit.
He now faces felony charges of forged instrument possession.
