Police were called to Wainfleet motel after receiving 911 call
A man has been taken to hospital after a standoff with police in Wainfleet.
NRP was called just after the noon hour yesterday to a motel on Highway 3, near Forks Road.
They were able to talk to the man, who had barricaded himself in a room, and refused to leave.
Police say they evacuated the entire motel out of safety, and continued negotiations with the man.
Around 2:30 he came out, was treated for minor injuries, and taken to hospital for further evaluation.
Police add there is no concern for public safety.
