It happened Saturday afternoon, lasting into the evening
A 35-year old Niagara Falls man is facing a number of charges after a roughly 5 hour standoff with police.
Officers were called around 3 Saturday afternoon to an apartment building in the Buchanan Avenue and Kitchener Street area of Niagara Falls.
They found he had made some threats after being asked to leave the building.
Due to the nature of those threats, police were called, and the standoff began.
Police add Kidus Dawit eventually surrendered, and is charged with uttering threats and failure to comply with probation.
He had a bail hearing yesterday in St. Catharines.
