Police working to determine actions of the accused in days leading up to murders, asking for public assistance
Two charges of 2nd degree murder have been laid against a 33-year old St. Catharines man.
Police were called to a home in the Queenston and Lorne Street area yesterday morning, where they found the body of 62-year old George Mummery and 59-year old Jennifer Allen.
Police arrested Andrew Mummery yesterday at the Village Square on St. Catharines Street in Smithville.
He had a bail hearing, but remains in police custody.
They also want to find out what he was doing between Tuesday and yesterday, and ask anyone who lives between St. Catharines and Smithville who may have seen the suspect, possibly on foot, to help.
Police say when the accused was arrested, he was wearing a black coat, dark green hoodie, blue jeans and a green backpack. He is white, 5'10, weighs 160lbs, and has short, dark hair and unshaven.
They're also asking if anyone has video that could help, to reach out to them.
Police add there are no more suspects, as the accused and victims knew each other. There is no further known danger to the public.
