Meals on Wheels Niagara will keep going with a few modifications.
Before COVID-19, volunteers would deliver food and stick around to chat with clients.
Now gloves are worn, hand sanitizer is readily available, and volunteers end the delivery at the door after handing the meal to the client.
These steps are being taken to protect both volunteer staff and clients from the spread of the disease.
Another step in place refers to the bags; where before an insulated bag was used to carry the meals, now a single-use plastic bag hold the food.
