Bell Media selling radio stations across the country, eliminating about 4,800 jobs
Bad news for hundreds of people working at radio stations across the country owned by Bell Media.
B-C-E, or Bell Canada Enterprises Inc., is cutting about 4,800 jobs at its Bell Media subsidiary and selling off 45 of its 103 regional radio stations in B-C, Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada.
The cuts represent about 9% of the company's workforce and include journalists.
Just last spring, Bell Media eliminated six per cent of its workforce and either powered down or sold off nine radio stations.
