Jennie Stevens says homelessness among veterans is growing, she wants to fix gaps in existing system
A St. Catharines area politician wants to do more to help homeless veterans find a place to live.
NDP MPP Jennie Stevens has introduced a motion to establish a Veteran Outreach and Homelessnees Pilot project.
She says far too many people are not aware of the services currently available, and think they have to deal with situations on their own.
Her motion would include collecting data needed to identify gaps in service and improve the system.
She also says homelessness among veterans is growing, as many don't identify as vets when seeking help.
