A local boy who nearly died in a fire last year has returned home.
Niagara Falls Mayor Jim Diodati was among those who helped welcome Ryker Burbridge home, presenting him with a jersey for his favourite hockey team, the Toronto Maple Leafs.
On April 6th of last year, Ryker and his family were doing yard work when the boy placed a gas can beside a backyard fire.
He was covered in flames when a large explosion occurred.
The boy, who had many major surgeries, spent most of the last year recovering at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto.
