These quarterly payments have been made to the city since 1996
Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation has made a first-quarter payment of almost $5.6 million dollars to the City of Niagara Falls for hosting Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara.
Niagara Falls has received more than $256 million dollars since the first gaming site opened in December, 1996.
The payments to host communities are based on a formula consistently applied across all gaming sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site.
Since 1994, host communities have received more than $2.4 billion in non-tax gaming revenue.
