The City of Niagara Falls is pitching in $125,000 for the Hockey Canada Foundation's Gala and Golf.
Larry Landon, the Chair of the Organizing Committee, says all of that money will benefit local legacy projects including renovations to the Chippawa Arena.
"We're going to build the rink up and the dressing rooms up and put a girls only locker room in there. The girls that really want to play at the highest level they can with possibly a university scholarship will have their own little sanctuary."
The money will also help fund a new para-pad at Heartland Forest.
The Gala will take over the Scotiabank Convention Centre on June 15th.
Landon says they're expecting a big crowd, of about 1,100 people.
The World Junior Hockey team will also be there, to receive their championship rings.
The golf tournament will be at Legends on the Niagara on June 16th.
