Niagara Health has received two provincial awards for organ and tissue donation.
The Trillium Gift of Life Network handed Niagara the Hospital Achievement Award, which was also given to 48 other hospitals, and the Award of Excellence
Last year, Niagara Health supported 16 organ donors, which led to 47 transplants, saving 42 lives.
Niagara Health also says there were 83 tissue donors, enhancing more lives.
The awards are given to hospitals that meet or exceed provincial targets for converting eligible donors into actual donors.
