The Ford Government has issued a Mandatory Management Order for Millennium Trail Manor in Niagara Falls.
Niagara Health will temporarily take control of the long-term care home in hopes of ending a COVID-19 outbreak that has been effect since September 29th.
President Lynn Guerriero issued an official statement on the matter last night.
"We are all seeing the impacts of COVID-19 on our most vulnerable citizens. This has been a difficult time for residents, families and staff at Millennium Trail Manor. We expect this MMO will bring needed support to the team at the home. They have been working hard under challenging circumstances to contain the virus and protect residents and staff."
Guerriero says a hospital response team will immediately get to work and develop an action plan in hopes of bringing a safe end to the outbreak.
She adds the families of the residents will be kept in the loop.
